- Dress professional- You can never go wrong with a button down shirt and a tie. Depending on how professional your company is, a blazer or suit may be required as well. Make sure to iron or dry-clean any clothes the day before the interview (if you don't have an iron, hang your clothes in the bathroom and turn on the shower so it steams up the room).
- Research the background of the company- Make sure to look up information like, hours working per week, starting pay, information about your boss if available. The more you research you conduct, the more confident and better understanding of the company.
- Prepare for questions- "Why do you want this job? Why did you leave your last job? Where do you see yourself in 5 years? Can you work under pressure?" All of these are critical for giving well thought-out responses.
- Get a good nights sleep- Be well rested, and 30 minutes early to the interview. You will be sharp and have a clear head if you don't have to worry about being late or tired.
- Be authentic- Companies want to see the real you. Be calm and professional in your responses but leave the interview with them remembering you. Be upbeat and energetic so the interviewers know you are happy and ready to bring a positive attitude to the company.
Do not take this opportunity for granted. This is one of the first/biggest oppurtunities of your career and it is vital to properly prepare. Best of luck!
